17th Annual
Alcazar Car Show Sponsored by the Excerpt below from Southern Rodder Magazine: It has become a tradition!
The First Sunday in November the rodding community mounts one last hurrah
before Mother Nature forces most of us to pack it away for another season.
This year the Clay County Shriners, in Bob Steele and Tommy Hicks, along with the efforts of all
the Shriners and countless volunteers, assembled a huge selection of The Lineville show is a non-judging, day long, time sit back, fire up the grill and swap stories with your friends. It’s a “come as you are” fun-filled day with no pressure, no competing and no hours of cleaning, (unless you just have to). Our old friend, DJ Ray, was on hadn spinning the oldies, and handing ut tons of great door prizes. Literally acres of cars surrounded the beautiful lake setting. You could leisurely stroll around the lake and admire the hundreds of cars and trucks spread out everywhere. Along the main entrance road dozens of used parts vendors, die-cast booths and new parts vendors had set up camp preparing for the thousands of enthusiasts searching for that special deal. The opposing side of the road offered equally appealing goodies for all the ladies. There were booths selling jewelry, arts and crafts, clothing, candles and candies. A special promotional team for the National Guard was also on hand with one of their NASCAR show cars. Everyone had the opportunity to see up close what a real NASCAR looks like and a chance to see what the National Guard is all about. If you left the show hungry, it was your own fault. The new pavilion seemed to be one of the busiest spots all day long. They offered some of the best BBQ sandwiches and home baked goodies you would ever want to taste. The Aleazar show is also noted for their great giveaways: fantastic door prizes and the world famous money tree – this year was no exception! The staff of Southern Rodder Magazine would like to thank Dr. Bob Steele for the invitation extended and the great hospitality we received. There’s no question this is one of the best shows around and a great way to send the show season. You need to plan now to keep the first Sunday in November 2005 open so you can spend it with a thousand fellow rodders and the Lineville Shriners. Not only will you have a great time, you’ll be helping a worthy cause. Southern Rodders Magazine
